HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - A mother and her boyfriend have been indicted in connection with the death of a 9-month-old Hattiesburg-area girl.

The Hattiesburg American (https://hatne.ws/2iHQ283 ) reports that 28-year-old Ryan Dykes, of Beaumont, is accused of striking Jada Freeman in the face or head and then suffocating the infant in December 2015. He was booked into Forrest County Jail on Tuesday after being indicted on charges of capital murder and two counts of felony child abuse.

Freeman’s mother, 23-year-old Kaily Csaszar, of Carnes, has been indicted on one count of manslaughter and one count of felony neglect of a child.



Grandfather and step-grandmother, Kelly Csaszar and Michelle Csaszar, also of Carnes, initially were charged with felony child neglect. The statuses of the elder Csaszars’ charges were not immediately clear.
