MANDAN, N.D. (AP) - A detective says a key witness to a homicide in Mandan told police she was drunk and high on drugs when her boyfriend was shot.
Lt. Pat Haug was questioned by a defense attorney during a preliminary hearing for two of three people charged in the shooting death of Kevin White. He was killed at warehouse party in Mandan Nov. 26.
The men are accused of shooting at the victim, though the person who fired the fatal shot hasn’t been identified. White’s girlfriend identified three men she said were involved.
The Bismarck Tribune (https://bit.ly/2j56XxG ) says a South Central District judge Tuesday determined there was enough evidence to support charges against Quentin Felton and Jiqueal Simmons. Both men have pleaded not guilty. The third man charged in the case is Simmons’ father who doesn’t yet have an attorney.
