SUFFOLK, Va. (AP) - Three Suffolk judges have issued a recusal order saying they cannot hear the abuse case against Del. Rick Morris.

WAVY-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2ioIgfq) that in an order issued Dec. 29, Chief Judge Carl E. Eason Jr., Judge Robert Sandwich and Judge Wayne Farmer recused themselves due to possible conflicts. The Supreme Court of Virginia will designate a judge to hear the case against Morris.

Court documents say Morris is facing a felony abuse charge after he was accused of hitting his stepson with a belt and a wooden spoon. The 48-year-old Republican has denied the allegations and said he won’t resign.
