LEBANON, Ohio (AP) - Authorities say a 20-year-old man died after apparently shooting himself in the parking lot of a southwest Ohio career center that was put under lockdown while officials investigated.

Lt. John Faine of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office says the man who died Thursday was a student at the joint vocational school. The center serves adults and high school students.

The Warren County Coroner’s Office says the man was found dead in his car in the rear of the career center’s parking lot shortly before 2 p.m. and a note was found. The man’s name was withheld pending notification of relatives.

Faine said the school’s resource officer discovered the body.

Center officials say the lockdown was lifted later in the afternoon.
