RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Now nearly all of this weekend’s inauguration ceremonies for North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper and Council of State members won’t happen or have been jumbled due to approaching winter weather.

The Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies already had postponed Saturday’s parade and moved the Saturday morning outdoor swearings-in to an auditorium.

But late Thursday the committee announced neither the auditorium event nor the Sunday open house at the Executive Mansion would happen. A committee news release says the decision came after consultation with emergency management.

Activities will still occur Friday, including a previously scheduled morning prayer service at a Raleigh church. A committee spokesman says Cooper and council members will participate in an afternoon swearing-in ceremony at the Mansion. Cooper and several council members already have taken their official oaths.
