FLORENCE, Ala. (AP) - Police say a man and woman accused of using a forklift at the construction site and loading stolen steel to take to a local scrap yard have been arrested in northern Alabama.

Florence police Sgt. Brad Holmes tells Al.com (https://bit.ly/2igwUKC) on Thursday that 40-year-old Kerri A. Thornton and Andrew L. Miller are charged with first-degree theft. Holmes says Thornton and Miller were captured when they returned to the construction site and officers noticed a suspicious vehicle.

Holmes says police believe Thornton and Miller were attempting to steal again when officers caught them.

Thornton and Miller are being held at the Lauderdale County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond. It’s not clear if Thornton and Miller have an attorney.
