ARLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Police in Arlington, Vermont, are investigating the death of an 81-year-old woman as a possible homicide.

Police say a neighbor of Helen Jones found her dead at her home on Wednesday night.

They say a state police detective “observed evidence of a suspected homicide.”

An autopsy will be scheduled.

Police say the investigation is in its early stages and they are interested in speaking with anyone who has information regarding “suspicious activity” in the area of Buck Hill Road in the past week or with anyone who has had contact with Jones or people who associated with her.
