A northern Virginia police department amused followers on Facebook Thursday afternoon with a set of photo illustrations placing pop culture icons such as Godzilla in the background of a photo of a traffic-snarled snowy commute.

“Winter weather is coming. Keep calm, we’ll get through this,” the Prince William County police captioned a four-picture photo collage. “Use caution. Slow down. Be patient. Expect delays. Adjust commute if possible.”

The original picture in the upper left showed a backup of cars on a snowy incline while one car in the background was aflame. Other pictures in the collage placed popular Hollywood blockbuster icons in the background: Godzilla, the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man from 1984’s “Ghostbusters” and an AT-AT Walker from 1980’s Star Wars sequel, “The Empire Strikes Back.”

The Prince William police’s message comes as the D.C. area, nationally infamous for freaking out over the slightest bit of the white stuff, is expecting up to two inches of snow by Friday morning’s commute.
