SMYRNA, Del. (AP) - The Delaware National Guard says five soldiers are deploying to southwest Asia.

The Delaware National Guard says in a statement it will host a departure ceremony Sunday in Smyrna for the soldiers.

The statement says the soldiers are scheduled for a 12-month active duty tour. The statement says that the team will train at Fort Bliss in Texas before leaving for overseas.

The Delaware National Guard says the soldiers are from the 261st Theater Tactical Signal Brigade and that they will be assigned to the Army’s Airborne Corps communications section.
