SELLMER, Tenn. (AP) - A former police lieutenant has been sentenced to two and a half years in federal prison after he admitted to viewing child pornography.

The Jackson Sun (https://bit.ly/2iQjLvh ) reports that 36-year-old Tony Miller was sentenced Thursday after he pleaded guilty in September to one count of accessing with intent to view child pornography.

U.S. Attorney Edward L. Stanton III’s office said in a news release that Miller had been a lieutenant with the Selmer Police Department at the time and used work-issued property to access the website.

The news release says Miller had to use special technology to access the website and conceal his identity. He was identified as one of the website’s users during an undercover investigation by the FBI.
