MOUNT VERNON, Mo. (AP) - Authorities say no charges will be filed in a southwest Missouri shooting death.

KOLR-TV (https://bit.ly/2hXv9WJ ) reports that the Lawrence County prosecuting attorney has ruled that the shooting of 44-year-old Rhonda Hood, of Mount Vernon, was “justified in defense of himself and the other people in the house.” The sheriff’s department said in a news release that the determination was made after the department completed its investigation.

After Hood was found shot to death on Monday, one person at the house was taken in for questioning. The man is still in custody on an unrelated matter. No details have been provided.
