POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) - A federal jury has convicted a 29-year-old man of second-degree murder for the death of his cousin.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for Idaho says the evidence showed Demetrius Gomez, of Fort Hall, shot his cousin with a close-range shotgun blast at a home there.

U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill is scheduled to sentence Gomez on March 21. Gomez faces up to life in prison. The jury returned its verdict Thursday.
