LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles police arrested a woman they say stole an ambulance and then led officers on a chase before crashing the vehicle into a power pole in the San Fernando Valley.

KABC-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2i7VL5S ) paramedics responded to a call for help at a home in Arleta just after 3 a.m. Saturday. After a patient declined transport, the paramedics left the home and found the ambulance had been stolen.

Fire department officials say the emergency lights were still flashing and could be seen across the neighborhood as the vehicle sped away.

Police chased the ambulance until it crashed. The 24-year-old female suspect was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

She was arrested on suspicion of grand theft auto and was being held on $80,000 bail.
