NEW YORK (AP) - Police have identified an elderly man who was killed in a hit-and-run in Brooklyn.

Police say 85-year-old Rafael Nieves was crossing Grand Street at about 1 p.m. Monday when he was struck by a box truck, which then fled the scene.

Nieves was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

No arrests have been made.

The box truck is described as white or brown in color. No other information was immediately available.

The investigation is ongoing.
