GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Police say a 22-year-old man fatally shot his father at a Glendale home as his parents were having an argument.

Authorities say Joseph Langenbach shot 53-year-old William Carroll during Sunday night’s dispute.

Police spokesman Sgt. Scott Waite says Langenbach shot his father after Carroll pulled out a gun during the dispute and threatened his wife.

Langenbach wasn’t arrested in his father’s death.

Waite says investigators didn’t believe they had probable cause to charge Langenbach with murder.

Police say Langenbach was cooperative and answered questions for investigators.

Prosecutors will ultimately decide whether charges will be filed against Langenbach.
