COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - They’re best friends, political allies and sons of South Carolina. Now, U.S. Sen. Tim Scott and U.S. Rep. Trey Gowdy can add co-authors to their list of dual accomplishments.

Tyndale House Publishers announced Tuesday its Tyndale Momentum imprint had signed the Republicans for a joint memoir entitled “Indivisible: Overcoming Our Differences, One Friendship at a Time.”

Scott is black, and Gowdy is white. Tyndale says the men have been friends since meeting in 2010 as freshmen congressman and have a collective goal of starting a “reconciliation movement” in a divided country.

Tyndale says the mens’ “friendship provides a beacon of hope in an increasingly apprehensive world.”

The book is expected to be released April 3, 2018. Tyndale says it’s also planning to release a six-week small group study guide.
