PLATTE, S.D. (AP) - Authorities say a woman found dead in her Platte home last week died accidentally.
South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley and Charles Mix County Sheriff Randy Thaler issued a statement Tuesday saying an autopsy shows 66-year-old Janet Strickland-Collins had a laceration to her shin and died of blood loss, as well as other underlying health issues. Her body was found Friday.
The statement did not explain how Strickland-Collins was injured.
