CORONA, Calif. (AP) - A California man has pleaded not guilty to murder in the stabbing death of his ex-girlfriend whose bloody body was found by one of her two teenage daughters the night before Thanksgiving.

Mark Brierley is charged with killing Sharmon Intili, a 46-year-old mother of two, last November in Corona.

The 42-year-old was arrested in June after detectives learned Intili had ended their relationship a few weeks before her death.

Police said friends told them Intili believed Brierley was stalking her and that she had changed the locks on her home.

The Press-Enterprise of Riverside reported Tuesday (https://bit.ly/2t3LZsG) that Brierley also faces special circumstance allegations that make him eligible for the death penalty.

He’s due back in court Aug. 24.
