FORT DODGE, Iowa (AP) - A jury has been seated in the trial of a man accused of killing two people in Mason City last November.

The Globe Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/2tO80IT ) that the jury selection for the trial of 31-year-old Peter Veal wrapped up midday Wednesday at the Webster County Courthouse in Fort Dodge.

Veal, of Lake Mills, has pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder and one count of the attempted murder of a witness. Officers sent to a Mason City home in November to check reports of a shooting found the bodies of Caleb Christensen and Melinda Kavars.

Veal’s trial was moved to Webster County to avoid pre-trial publicity.
