BALTIMORE (AP) - Police say they arrested a man at Morgan State University after a robbery was reported near the campus and they seized a gun from the man.

University spokesman Larry Jones said in an email Wednesday that university police were alerted Tuesday night that a suspect in a possible robbery may have fled onto campus. Police arrested a man who fit the description of the suspect. Jones says the man is not a student.

Baltimore police said in a statement that detectives called to the campus arrested 21-year-old Garnett Sears and seized a loaded handgun from him. Sears is charged with various handgun violations. It was unclear if Sears has an attorney.
