HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (AP) - A sheriff’s deputy in North Carolina has been fired after he was arrested on an assault charge.
The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that Asheville police responded to a domestic violence call Tuesday evening.
Thirty-nine-year-old Cory Thomas Burton of Arden has been charged with assaulting a female. Burton is being held in the Buncombe County jail. It was not known if he has an attorney.
The senior deputy had been with the department since November 2015.
