OTTUMWA, Iowa (AP) - A man awaiting sentencing for kidnapping an Ottumwa woman has been sentenced for witness tampering and harassment.

Online court records show 24-year-old Joel Herrarte Jr. pleaded guilty Monday and was given two years for each crime, to be run at the same time and at the same time of his pending prison sentence for kidnapping. His kidnapping sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 7.

The records also say Herrarte was fined $625 for the witness tampering and for the harassment.

Authorities say Herrarte and two other people kidnapped the woman in late February last year and held her captive for several days. Accomplices Constance Griffiths and Jacob Rauscher have been given 10 years in prison.
