LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles police say four gang officers were injured when their two patrol cars collided in a parking lot.

Officer Mike Lopez says one police vehicle was headed south and the other was traveling west when they crashed Monday, sending one of the cruisers into an unoccupied parked car.

Lopez says all four officers, who work in South Los Angeles, were taken to a hospital with complaints of pain and cuts from airbags that deployed in both cars. The Los Angeles Times reports (https://lat.ms/2uDf7Y4) all were in stable condition. No other injuries were reported.

Additional details about what led to the crash were not available early Tuesday.

Lopez says the officers were doing gang enforcement in the area.
