JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) - An inmate has died at the Hudson County jail. It is the second death in six weeks.
County spokesman James Kennelly tells The Record (https://njersy.co/2utcw29 ) 48-year-old Jennifer Towle died in the jail’s infirmary on Friday. Towle had been serving a mandatory 180-day sentence for driving while intoxicated.
Authorities are awaiting autopsy results.

Her death followed the June 10 death of Rolando Espinoza, who died from “internal bleeding and hemorrhagic shock” after he was transferred to a hospital. He had been held in the part of the jail where the county houses U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainees who are wanted for immigration offenses.
