NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (AP) - Authorities say a shooting at a Virginia church funeral damaged several vehicles.

Newport News police spokesman Brandon Maynard says they responded to a shooting at about 11:45 a.m on July 15. A caller told dispatchers that a group of men wearing black shirts began shooting at several vehicles near Mount Moriah Church. Authorities say roughly eight to 10 gunshots were heard.

The Daily Press reports Mount Moriah Church was holding a funeral service for the victim of a recent killing in Hampton.

No injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing.
