BOSTON (AP) - Three men have pleaded not guilty to murder charges in the fatal shooting of a beloved Boston hardware store owner.
Thirty-eight-year-old Jerome Hobson, of Dorchester, 26-year-old Shawn Redden, of Brockton, and 21-year-old Christian Soto-Olivero, of Mattapan, were arraigned Wednesday in connection with the death of 58-year-old Andres Cruz. All three were ordered held without bail.
Authorities say Cruz, the owner of AC Hardware, was shot Tuesday during an apparent robbery at the store in the city’s Mission Hill neighborhood.

Authorities say Cruz had fought back against the men, using a knife to slash two of them. One of the suspects, Soto-Olivero, was arraigned in his hospital bed.
Mayor Marty Walsh and Police Commissioner William Evans both called the suspects “cowards.”
Evans says the neighborhood is “heartbroken” by Cruz’s death.
