NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) - A 73-year-old man has been sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole in the shooting death of a former co-worker on his porch near Philadelphia a few days before Christmas.
The (Pottstown) Mercury (https://bit.ly/2tU9j7q ) reports that Leroy Clark showed no emotion as he was sentenced in Montgomery County Court on a first-degree murder conviction.
Clark pleaded guilty in April to a general homicide charge in the Dec. 23 death of 73-year-old Robert Duncan in Abington Township. He was also sentenced to a consecutive two- to five-year term on a firearms count.
Defense attorney Brian McMonagle had argued for a guilty but mentally ill conviction, saying his client, a former Marine who served two tours of duty in Vietnam, had post-traumatic stress disorder and “snapped.”
