LEXINGTON, N.C. (AP) - A third person has been arrested in the death of a man in North Carolina last weekend.

The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office said 23-year-old Nicholas Powell Stutts of Lexington was arrested Monday and charged with murder.

Deputies told local media outlets that 26-year-old Edward Joshua Grainger and 20-year-old Connie Nicole Miller of Thomasville were arrested Sunday night at a motel in High Point.

The three are charged in the death of 39-year-old Ricky Dean McDowell of Lexington. Deputies were called to McDowell’s home around 8:30 p.m. Saturday and found him dead. He had been shot and stabbed.

Sheriff David Grice said the death followed an argument.

It was not known if the suspects have attorneys yet.
