BOUNTIFUL, Utah (AP) - Authorities in Utah have taken a rattlesnake into custody after it was spotted in a city neighborhood.

KUTV-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2v7VN5k ) the Bountiful City Police Department handled the snake on Tuesday.

The snake appears to be a Great Basin rattlesnake, a sub species of the Western rattlesnake.



A tweet credited Bountiful police Officer Syrett with taking the reptile “into protective custody.”

The great basin rattler is one of seven dangerous snake species in Utah.
