SANFORD, Maine (AP) - Police in Maine have charged three juvenile boys in connection with a massive fire that destroyed a vacant mill last month.

According to the state Fire Marshal’s Office, two 13-year-olds and a 12-year-old, all from Sanford, were arrested Sunday. The boys have each been charged with felony arson in the fire that destroyed the Stenton Trust Mill building in Sanford.

More than 100 firefighters worked to put the blaze out at the 300,000 square-foot mill. Officials say they were worried the building would collapse.

State Fire Marshal Joseph Thomas says investigators used drone and security footage to analyze the path of the fire.

According to court records, all three juveniles denied setting the fire in Biddeford District Court Monday. The three boys are scheduled to appear in court again Thursday.
