REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. (AP) - Delaware troopers say a 2-year-old was injured and his father is charged with his 5th DUI offense after a moped they were riding crashed.

According to a state police news release , 48-year-old Anthony F. Taglienti was taken into custody Tuesday after troopers responded to a reported crash in Rehoboth Beach around 6:30 p.m. Troopers say Taglienti and his son were released from a local hospital after treatment for not life-threatening injuries.

Police Master Corporal Gary Fournier says Taglienti was operating a 2012 Puma moped with his son on his lap when he lost control and they fell to the ground.

Fournier says Taglienti faces charges including endangering the welfare of a child.
