FAIRFIELD, Maine (AP) - Police in Maine have arrested a 16-year-old girl they say committed a series of car burglaries.

The Kennebec Journal reports (https://bit.ly/2eSLueA ) police received a call of someone breaking into cars in Fairfield around 1:40 a.m. July 22.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a burglary victim had detained a teenage girl. Investigators say they found evidence of other burglaries.

The Fairfield girl was arrested and charged with burglary of a motor vehicle, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer and receiving stolen property. Police linked the teen to three other burglaries that occurred earlier in July after she acknowledged breaking into six vehicles the night she was arrested.

Investigators say the teen stole electronics, food and lottery tickets.
