Authorities say a car collided head-on with a tractor-trailer rig, killing the car’s two occupants and partially closing the main highway link between Phoenix and Las Vegas for a brief time.

Trooper Kameron Lee of the Arizona Department of Public Safety says the car was traveling north on U.S. 93 near the junction of State Route 71 northwest of Wickenburg Friday morning when the car crossed the center line and collided with the semi.
