BENTONVILLE, Ark. (AP) - A northwest Arkansas woman has been given eight years of probation after pleading guilty to causing the death of her 2-month-old son.

The Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that Molly Sullivan was sentenced Thursday in Benton County Circuit Court after pleading guilty in April to manslaughter in the boy’s death.

Sullivan had initially been arrested on a murder charge for the October death of the boy. Sullivan previously said she had awakened to find the boy was not breathing.

Sullivan’s attorney called the case said “for everyone involved.”

An official cause of death was not released, but a police report says it appears the infant had been placed on his stomach in a playpen.
