LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - Authorities say two brothers have been arrested in the drive-by shooting killing of a 14-year-old girl shot in the head as she attended a party at a home in Las Cruces.

Police say 20-year-old Julio Gutierrez-Barrera and 19-year-old Alonzo Barrera were arrested in the killing early Saturday morning of Jocelyn Marrie Trujillo.

Jail records indicate Gutierrez-Barrera is being held on suspicion of murder, tampering with evidence and conspiracy to commit a felony while Barrera is being held on suspicion of tampering with evidence and conspiracy.

According to police, several shots were fired into the home after the brothers had a dispute with somebody else at the party.

Online court records don’t indicate whether the men have defense attorneys who could comment on the allegations.
