TUSKEGEE, Ala. (AP) - An Alabama man whose car struck a tree has died.
AL.com reports that the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said in a press release that 64-year-old Ronald Cleo Gibbs died Saturday afternoon after his 1982 Mercury Zephyr left the roadway off Macon County Interstate 65 and struck a tree. State troopers reported that Gibbs died at the scene, and was not wearing a seat belt.
The accident occurred around 3 miles (5 kilometers) from Gibbs’ hometown of Tuskegee.
State troopers are continuing to investigate.
