NOGALES, Ariz. (AP) - An Arizona congressman is scheduled to meet with the mayor of Nogales and then tour the area of the breach in an international pipeline that carries untreated sewage from Mexico into Arizona.

U.S. Rep. Raul Grijalva will meet Tuesday morning with Nogales Mayor John Doyle, Santa Cruz County Supervisor Bruce Bracker and state Rep. Rosanna Gabaldon at Nogales City Hall before they tour Nogales Wash.

Repair work has begun to stem the flow of untreated wastewater into the wash from a partial break in the sewage line.

The breach was detected last Tuesday in a sparsely populated area north of Rio Rico, Arizona.

Authorities believe the break occurred because excessive rainwater put too much pressure on the pipe.

The wastewater has tested positive for excessive levels of E. coli.
