OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) - A man suffered a neck injury when jumping from a boat into shallow water in Maryland.

Maryland Natural Resources Police tweeted that 30-year-old Richard Tesar was flown to a Baltimore hospital early Monday with life-threatening injuries.

The U.S. Coast Guard says it received a report of a man who jumped from his boat into shallow water north of Assateague Island and injured his neck. Officials say others aboard the vessel took him ashore and he was flown to a Baltimore hospital.

No one else was injured.
