BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Baton Rouge’s top federal prosecutor who resigned in March is going into private practice.

Walt Green is now a partner at the law firm of Phelps Dunbar, a regional firm with offices from Houston, Texas to New Orleans to Tampa, Florida.

The Advocate reports Green is working in the firm’s Baton Rouge office and will focus on white collar criminal defense and government investigations, cyber security and civil litigation.

Managing partner Ragan Richard describes Green as “highly respected, accomplished and personable.” He says Green “will deepen and expand an array of client services we provide.”

Green, a Democrat, had worked as a federal prosecutor in Baton Rouge since 1999. He was appointed U.S. attorney under the Obama administration in 2013.
