BURLINGTON, Iowa (AP) - A 30-year-old man has been charged with vehicular homicide in the November death of a 77-year-old man south of Burlington.
The Hawk Eye reports (https://bit.ly/2sGdAA1 ) that Jason Louis Twitchell faces up to 25 years in prison if he’s convicted. He was charged Friday.
Prosecutors say Twitchell was under the influence of drugs or alcohol Nov. 9 when the truck he was driving collided with a vehicle being driven by Raymond Manning Jr., of Burlington.
Manning was pronounced dead at the scene. Twitchell was flown to an Iowa City hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police say Twitchell tested positive for amphetamine and benzodiazapine at the hospital.
