NORTH WEBSTER, Ind. (AP) - A man who was shot and wounded by a northern Indiana sheriff’s deputy following a road rage dispute and crash has been sentenced to prison in the case.

The Elkhart County prosecutor’s office say a judge last week sentenced 25-year-old Alexander D. Jackson of Milford to more than 13 years in prison followed by 10 years of probation. He earlier pleaded guilty to charges including attempted aggravated battery and criminal recklessness.

Authorities say Kosciusko County Deputy Don McCune shot Jackson last July after Jackson had rammed his squad car repeatedly, briefly knocking McCune unconscious, and was revving his truck engine when McCune opened fire.

Jackson allegedly shot at two other motorists earlier while driving between Syracuse and North Webster. Police say they recovered two guns from his truck.
