BALTIMORE (AP) - Three Baltimore police officers charged in a racketeering conspiracy are now facing additional robbery charges.

Federal prosecutors earlier this year announced charges against seven Baltimore officers. Prosecutors said they used their position on a gun task force to detain people on false pretenses and steal from them and that they faked police reports, lied to investigators and defrauded their department.

On Thursday, prosecutors said in a statement that a federal grand jury returned an indictment charging three of the officers with additional robberies. Federal prosecutors say 13 robberies were committed by Sgt. Wayne Jenkins of Middle River, Detective Daniel Hersl of Joppa, and Detective Marcus Taylor of Glen Burnie.

The grand jury also indicted two civilians, saying they posed as police officers during a robbery with an officer.
