EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - A former Coburg, Oregon, police chief has pleaded guilty to a charge of harassment constituting domestic violence.
The Register-Guard reports (https://bit.ly/2utUVnX ) 50-year-old Sean Gilhousen was sentenced Wednesday to 18 months on probation and the two days he already spent in jail.
The prosecutor said Gilhousen kicked a laundry basket during a fight in January and it hit the woman in the face. She reported the incident a month later, when Lane County sheriff’s deputies went to Gilhousen’s home for a separate dispute involving the woman.
Gilhousen spent more than two years as interim police chief of the city north of Eugene. He resigned in 2011 amid an internal investigation following a citizen complaint.
He now works as a training coordinator for Oregon Department of Transportation inspectors.
