NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey man has been sentenced to 30 years in state prison after he was convicted of killing a cafe owner.

NJ.com reports (https://bit.ly/2uRB3e5) that 20-year-old Zakariyya Ahmad was one of three teens who tried to rob Zakiyyah’s cafe in Newark in October 2013.

Prosecutors say cafe owner Joseph Flagg, of Union, was fatally shot and the teens left without any money.

Ahmad was convicted in April of felony murder and manslaughter, and robbery and weapons offenses.
