NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) - A Philadelphia man has been convicted of two counts of first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of two men in a suburban apartment building.
The (Norristown) Times Herald (https://bit.ly/2rXNjcD ) reports that jurors in Montgomery County deliberated for about three hours Friday before convicting 25-year-old Obrian Lewis in the November 2015 slayings in Norristown.
Prosecutors alleged that he killed 26-year-old Marcel Edwards and 26-year-old Quentin Watson Jr. because he was in a jealous rage over a woman that both he and one of the victims had dated.
The verdict carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison without possibility of parole.
Defense attorney John McMahon Jr. argued that his client was acting in self-defense and said the charges should be no more serious than manslaughter. He vowed an appeal.
