CUPERTINO, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say an elderly woman was killed inside her home by a stranger seen in a nearby backyard naked and holding a hammer.

The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office said 39-year-old Suzanne Hernandez was arrested in the killing of a 74-year-old woman whose body was found by friends Saturday morning inside her Cupertino home.

The office says Hernandez was arrested Saturday night after investigators interviewed neighbors and searched the area with the assistance of police dogs.

Neighbor Richard Freeman tells San Jose television station KNTV (https://bit.ly/2rUybOH ) that he saw Hernandez the night of the killing in his backyard. He says Hernandez was naked and holding a hammer.

Freeman says the Los Gatos woman shouted at him asking if he had found Jesus and then took off running.
