LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Officials say a 32-year-old woman who was an inmate at the Fayette County jail has died.
The coroner’s office said April Livingston died Sunday morning. An autopsy was performed, but the coroner’s office said in a news release that the cause of death was pending toxicology tests.
Mayor’s office spokeswoman Susan Straub said in a statement that jail staff found Livingston unresponsive in her bed and she was taken by emergency personnel to University of Kentucky Hospital.
Straub said Livingston had been in jail since Tuesday and was serving an eight-day sentence for failure to appear and possession of a controlled substance.
