STERLINGTON, La. (AP) - A man has been taken into custody after Louisiana authorities say he crashed a stolen vehicle and led police on a foot chase.
The News-Star reports (https://tnsne.ws/2riX08D ) the Sterlington Police Department arrested 18-year-old John F. Eave on Saturday morning after a seven-hour search. The department said in Facebook posts that a man driving a vehicle stolen Friday night crashed it into another vehicle around midnight.
Police were assisted by the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office and a National Guard helicopter during the search for the suspect, who evaded officers on foot. Eave was arrested after officers established a perimeter.
Eave faces charges of driver must be licensed, theft of a motor vehicle, resisting an officer, failure to report an accident and careless operation. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer.
