GRAYSON, Calif. (AP) - Officials are searching for a pilot who took off from a private strip in central California but did not arrive at his destination in Tuolumne County.

The Modesto Bee reports (https://bit.ly/2sW6P9p) search and rescue teams from five law enforcement agencies are searching Monday for 75-year-old Leroy del Don.

Del Don was reported missing by his family late Friday after he didn’t arrive in Columbia Airport. He had flown out from a private airstrip near Grayson and was going to fly directly to Columbia Airport, a trip he has done numerous times.

Calaveras County Sheriff’s Sgt. Anthony Eberhardt says the plane was last picked up on radar “a ways off that route.”

The plane is a twin-engine, propeller-driven 1967 Beechcraft Baron. It has the tail number N3717Q.
