REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. (AP) - A 6-year-old Pennsylvania boy has been hit by an SUV and injured in a Delaware beach town.

Media outlets report that the crash happened Sunday evening in Rehoboth Beach.

Police say the boy’s father was unloading his car in a driveway when his son left the driveway and entered the roadway. Police say an Acura SUV hit the boy, knocking him to the ground when he walked into the vehicle’s path.

They say the SUV was moving at what witnesses describe as a normal speed and the driver’s view was obstructed by parked vehicles along the shoulder as the boy entered the roadway.

The boy was flown to a hospital with injuries that aren’t thought to be life-threatening. Police did not have further details on his condition.
